Justin Fatica has already touched the hearts of more than 150,000 people at his events and he has spent 10 years ministering to young people as a teacher, high school campus minister, and co-founder/director of the Nationally Acclaimed "Hard As Nails Ministries," which was featured in the 2008 HBO documentary "Hard As Nails." Justin's first book, Hard as Nails will be published by Doubleday, a division of Random House, Inc., in January, 2009.

JUSTIN FATICA'S EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
1. Implement the Multiple Intelligences theory for teaching, focusing on many or all of the intelligences: Mathematical, Linguistic, Musical, Bodily Kinesthetic, Interpersonal, and Intrapersonal. This will help each individual in Justin's audience.
2. Inspire each individual so that the student body wants to learn and grow.
3. Explore the cultural and individual uniqueness of each student. Every individual is so important and each has so much to offer.
4. Empower through storytelling. Justin and his team relate their personal experiences, the trials and tribulations they have faced that have taught them that, with persistence and a big heart, people can accomplish anything.
5. Utilize peer leadership within the school structure to facilitate the presentation.
6. Help students to better understand and believe in themselves. Once they understand and appreciate their goals, learning is much easier.
7. Use inspiring music, like Josh Groban's "You Raise ME UP" and "Eye of the Tiger," to empower and help the student body understand Justin's message of hope.
8. After the program has been completed, there will be a sense of community among the students because they will better understand that they are unique individuals who share the need to be loved, accepted, and encouraged by their peers and teachers.
SAMPLE SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS
1. You're Important. You Can Make A Difference.
It is not what you do, but who you are that really matters. Who you are does not change, no matter what you do. And when you know who you are, you will be able to achieve greatness and make a difference in the world. What are your true missions, purposes, and goals in life? What makes you important? When you find your purpose and believe you are amazing, unique, and wonderful, you will truly reach for your dreams.
After students get excited about who they are, Justin will talk about his person journey - battling with who he was - to help the students understand that if they focus on their mission, purpose, and goal and stick to them with all their hearts, they can make a difference.
Justin will have the students write down their missions, purposes, and goals. Some students will share them with the entire student body. Some of their peers may laugh at them, some may cry with them, and some may encourage them, and after many of many students share, Justin will encourage them with a message of hope, letting them know that they can make a difference.
As Justin was growing up, many people laughed at his mission and many still do. Others cried and said, "Wow, you are going to change the world with your purpose." Others encouraged Justin and helped him to accomplish his goals. Justin realized that the people in his life, whether they laughed, cried, or encouraged, were meant to be there for a reason, to push him forward in his quest to make a difference.
2. It Takes Courage to Encourage
Bullies beware in this talk! In a school setting there are cliques, cultural diversity, and young people who pick on each other. Young people hurt each other with their actions and their words. This talk will help students know that words and actions make a difference.
Every word we use matters, but our positive words matter most. It takes courage to share your heart and keep a positive attitude. Actions matter, too. Our actions generate energy that can hurt others to the core of their being.
This presentation will share some of the young peoples' stories from Justin's book, Hard As Nails. These stories talk about how young people are being treated and how they treat themselves.
The students will be encouraged to share stories of how people have hurt them. Justin will use a piñata, as a symbolic victim of bullying, to illustrate the pain people can inflict on each other. When the piñata breaks, Justin will explain that we can learn a lot from those who reject and hurt us. We should strive to treat others the way we would want to be treated.
When hurtful students see how others have negatively affected their peers, it will bring them to the realization that, if they don't change, they are going to hurt someone.
3. Now is the Time and You are the One
Change yourself today! Love people no matter what. Encourage those who annoy you. Reach out to a stranger. Find the courage to care for someone in need. That is the message of this talk, which Justin has been presenting for years.
What if JFK had never been born? What if Rosa Parks had never boarded that bus? What if you weren't born? Your life is going to make an impact on this world. Now is the time and YOU are the one!
To illustrate these points, Justin will touch on his own life story. As a young person, Justin felt like a nobody, but then he learned that we can all achieve greatness despite what others may think or say about us.
4. Heal Yourself. Heal Your Community
Heal: Hope, Encourage, Admire, Love. Our relationships with our families, friends and even our enemies will be healed when we HOPE for the best, EMPOWER and ENCOURAGE each other, ADMIRE those who are different and LOVE each other with our whole beings. These four principles will teach students how to heal their relationships in time.
