BIBLE STUDIES

Need ideas for your Bible study group?

IDEAS FOR YOUR CHURCH BIBLE STUDY

  1. Ask those in your Bible study to memorize a particular verse.
  2. Read verses which support the memorized verse, to put it into context.
  3. Recognize and organize around a theme that relates to your Bible verse.
  4. Put together 5-10 questions, related to the theme, for your group.
  5. Put together a CALL TO ACTION, a series of steps your team can take to live better lives!

OUR CURRENT BIBLE STUDY: BE WEAK AND THEN YOU ARE STRONG

Bible Verses:

Memorize Proverbs 22:22-23: "Injure not the poor because they are poor, nor crush the needy at the gate; For the Lord will defend their cause, and he will plunder the lives of those who plunder them." (NAB)

Read Proverbs 22:22-29

Read 2 Corinthians 12:1-10

Questions:

  1. Who is poor?
  2. Are you poor and why?
  3. Why are the weak strong and the strong weak?
  4. What challenge do you think the Lord gives you to keep you coming to him for strength?
  5. With whom do you have the hardest time being weak?

Closing Question:

  1. What is your greatest weakness?
  2. Go around in a circle and share the greatest weakness you have. If others have the same weakness, have them raise their hands.

Call To Action:

  1. Every time you sin, confess it to someone in your Bible Study.
  2. Thank the person who is weak in your life and tell him/her you look up to him/her.
  3. With your parents approval, invite a homeless man out to eat. Don't just buy him food. Eat with him.
  4. Commit to being weak on a daily basis, and share with those who think you are strong about how weak you are.
